THE NEWBORN EXPERIENCE

Because Time Flies.

"Time flies!" How many times have you said it? We all have, but until you have a newborn you may not experience it to the fullest. One day you are holding a precious newborn with tiny hands and feet, peely skin, wispy hair, so fragile and fresh. Then in a blink they are running wildy, dancing and playing without a care in the world. How did THAT happen? I remember how the days seemed so long, yet the years flew by. I never figured out how that happened!

First of all, your session will be all about you and your baby! No two people are the same, so I want to cater your session to you and what you want. That is why the pre-consultation is SO important! This is when we will design a custom portrait session based on your needs.

The best time to schedule your newborn session is while you are pregnant. It is never too early to schedule! You can reserve a tentative session on my calendar with your paid session fee. We ask that you contact us within 24-48 hours after delivery to schedule your actual session date.

The ideal time to photograph your newborn is between 5 and 14 days old. During this short window newborns are still accustomed to the womb, are easier to pose, and don't mind being moved into different positions to capture the poses and set ups that you want.

Since babies can not regulate their temperature and because they are naked during some of the session, the studio will be rather warm! Moms, Dads and siblings should dress in layers so that you can be clothed in what makes you comfortable.

Welcoming a new life into the world is a momentous occasion for every family. It is just as important to feature mom, dad and siblings in photos as it is to capture the newborn. We will take time to get everyone in on the fun!

I reserve plenty of time for your session, as each baby is different and will dictate how much we can do. Your baby is the boss! As you probably well know by now, newborns do not operate on anyone's schedule but their OWN! We will take breaks as needed to feed, change and soothe baby.

Before your session you will receive detailed pre-session information that will help ensure we have a happy, sleepy baby.

NEWBORN SESSIONS

The Newborn Session fee is $175 (plus tax) and is due at the time of booking in order to reserve your session date.

Sessions Include:

  • Alicia's time and talent to capture your images
  • A detailed pre-consultation (either in person or on the phone) to plan your display goals
  • A full session (Usually 2 to 3 hours) to capture the set-ups and options that were planned during the pre-consultation
  • Full access to Alicia's extensive prop collection
  • Carefully edited images for you to review at your post-session appointment
  • A 1-hour post-session in-studio presentation, designing and ordering appointment

COLLECTIONS

During your presentation appointment, you will have the opportunity to see your images and design your own collection. We will walk you through this process and help you design heirloom pieces for your home. Our "Create Your Own" packages allow you the flexibility to customize a package that meets your needs and your budget as well as offer you the best value for your investment. The Session fee does not include any prints, digital files or products. Products are purchased separately. Session Fee is required to confirm the booking and is non-refundable. Dates are not held without paid session fee.
